In today's society dieting, exercising, cosmetic surgery and nutraceuticals are big business and commonly accepted. For many people these practices mask underlying mental problems , including eating disorders. This can interfere with treatment compliance, work/school productivity, relationships and quality of life. Lena Sheffield, M.S. Ed., CAP, from The Renfrew Center, a residential eating disorder treatment facility, will discuss the prevention, identification and treatment of disordered eating. Furthermore, intervention, treatment and recovery indicators of eating disorders will be reviewed.

A certificate of attendance for 3 contact hours will be given at the end of the presentation for treatment professionals. This certificate will satisfy the requirement for proof of attendance for most mental health and medical professionals.
