THE Tennessee Conference on Social Welfare
Commitment. Connections. Collaboration. Success.

TCSW represents the strength of 1500 individual members and 160 public and private nonprofit agencies touching the lives of Tennesseans, providing over 10 million service contacts per year. Since TCSW inception in 1913, TCSW is credited with a major role in shaping important TN social reform, including the first Children's Code.
TCSW is the network STEWARD and WEAVER of services, citizens, advocates and decision-makers to strengthen Tennessee through strengthening our people. We believe research, problem-solving, best practices, cost-effectiveness, and collaborative action are the strategies to insure Tennesseans can access opportunities for building stronger citizens and communities. TN statistics clearly show we need improvement. To see the numbers, click here.
We are adding more and more resources to the website - to give you better information about
- issues affecting the lives of Tennesseans, and how your action can help
- information on statistics in the state to use for policy analysis, work in your community, and for grant-writing
- information about best practices and evidenced-based programming by issue
- and more every day! Check often!
From Adoption to Aging, from Education to Economic and Workforce Development, from Health Care to Child Care, from Mental Wellness to Family Wellness, from Disparities to Parity, TCSW works TOGETHER for a better Tennessee. Join TCSW to better connect the dots between many issues and common solutions to improve life in Tennessee.
TCSW offers learning opportunities for citizens from all walks of life to improve local expertise in services and policy decision-making. Six (6) Regional Conferences and one state-wide Annual Conference Conference are held per year, along with free quarterly training opportunities.
NEW! TOGETHER TENNESSEE TM is an initiative of TCSW to lift Tennessee and help build supports for our citizens to live productive and rewarding lives - particularly for those most vulnerable and at risk. Across issue areas, across walks of life, and across geographic areas, TCSW will engage ordinary citizens, consumers, policy leaders and advocates to determine, and then craft, solutions and strategies for a better Tennessee.
Why is the need for change so urgent? Click here to see for yourself!
